For the first time I decided to try Ankers fish fry and I am very disappointed. I ordered two fish fry dinners and a chicken special. My fish was overcooked and chicken was burnt. It seems like they are cooking the fish and chicken in dirty grease. I called the restaurant and I was told to bring back the food for a refund. I brought back the food and the 2 ladies at the counter were rolling their eyes as they took the food to the cook in the back they came back and said thats how they make their chicken and fish and refused to give me my refund. Needless to say I will never go back to this establishment.

A legendary place that I keep coming back to over the years. The large selection of delicious seafood, the friendly staff, reasonable prices, and the familiarity is so welcoming. I'll always keep coming back!

I absolutely love dining here!! The fried haddock is delicious and the sweet potato fries are over the top, AMAZING!! The inside of the restaurant is always clean and they are very welcoming!

Finding the best mozzarella sticks in the capital region β¦ Today I have Anker's Fish House I arrivied about a half an hour before close, it was quiet. I was greeted as soon as I opened the door. The restaurant was clean and tidy. I ordered theοΏΌ mozzarella sticks of course With a side pasta salad. Served in about 5-10 mins after ordered. Hottt and def fresh. Letβs jump straight into these sticks.. They were really good. Like really really good. Huge amount of cheese. Perfectly crispy texture but not overly greasy. The breading was different than all the others Iv had before. It was like crispy Iβm not sure exactly what goes into their breading. But I like it. Could have used a tad bit more seasoning. But other than that they are def a hit. They didnβt have Melba so I got the marinara. The pasta salad was okay. It was a little too much garlic for me personal liking. I added a little more Italian dressing at home. I liked all the different veggies they use. There was a few things on the menu that caught my eye like the coconut shrimp π€ so I think Iβll οΏΌ definitely be back. This is a Schenectady landmark,there use to be several fried seafood places but this is the one which remains. Robust menu with many different items,both meal specials and individual items.My most recent trip I got an individual fish fry and clam fry.Fish definitely lacked flavor and that flavor which was present was just kinda off,odd tasting.Clam fry was very good,crispy and perfectly fried. Word of caution,this establishment was pricey before food cost increases so be prepared to shell out some money.
